I found Star Trek in daytime TV reruns, cancelled a few years before I was even born. Captain Kirk was the hero of the show and as a kid I was invested in all the characters - the main characters of Kirk, Spock and McCoy along with Uhura, Sulu, Chekov and Scotty.

Mr. Spock was definitely my favourite though. Vulcan logic, being the Science Officer on the ship, and the ability to mind meld and do the Vulcan nerve pinch.

I'm sure an image search will turn up a lot of copies of the original photo I used as reference, I think it's a promo photo although maybe it's a still from an episode. Personally I was always "fascinated" by the equipment and displays at his station on the bridge, so I'm happy with the background of this piece as well.
